Our Talk Tent will be the central place for all talk this weekend! From our amazing youth forums taking place over the duration of Camp Marra to our Marra Channel on Scout Link.
Young people working in partnership with adults has always been something we have been proud of. Youth Shaped Scouting not only improves the way we Scout, but also the young people involved. Learning to speak up, be heard and work towards improving something you are passionate about is an incredible learning experience for the youngest Beaver right the way through to our eldest Network member.
We want every young person to shape their own adventure, take on responsibility, develop skills, make decisions and influence their own Scout Programme.
The Youth Forms over the course of the weekend will be hosted by members of Team Northumberland along with being joined by some of our amazing Local Youth Commissioners.
Monday 25th MAY 2020
9am – 3pm – SCOUT LINK
Scoutlink is a platform which will be available all through the day to talk to other people about Marra on our dedicated Marra channel.
10:00 – Beaver Scout Youth Forum
A Beavers youth forum is the perfect way to get young people involved in all aspects of Scouting, from thinking about programme ideas to planning camps and events. … They provide an ideal opportunity to allow Beaver Scouts to express their opinions on the programme and past activities and get involved in Colony planning.
11:00 – SSAGO Drop In Session
Going to uni next year?? Want to find out how to get involved in scouting whilst studying. Pop in to the drop-in session to speak to SSAGO (The Student Scout and Guide Organisation) representatives.
11:00 – Cub Scout Youth Forum
A Cub Pack leadership forum is a meeting between Sixers, sometimes Seconders, and Cub Scout Leaders. If your Pack has young leaders, then they should also be involved, as they are closer in age to the Cubs and will help to facilitate discussions and help the Cubs get more out of the experience.
12:00 – Scout Youth Forum
A Troop Forum is a meeting of all members of the Scout Troop, either collectively or in smaller groups, and provides an opportunity for everyone to give their views on the programme and running of the Troop.
13:00 Explorer Scout Youth Forum
These meetings involve all of the Explorer Scouts from all of the Units in a District, and are generally held once a year. They are usually informal social gatherings, which are used as an opportunity to get feedback on the programme of the past year, and also to discuss upcoming events.
We would like to thank the team at Scout Link for setting the Marra Channel up.
